Busy
Documentary Season for Disher
San Francisco, California, October 12, 2004 – Bay Area documentary
filmmakers have been keeping Disher Music & Sound’s staff
very busy this summer. Recently Disher provided the mix on Red Poppy’s
“Pablo Neruda ¡Presente!,” Tom Weidlinger/Moira
Productions’ “The Heart of the Congo,” and Alessandro
Gentile’s “Firefall.”
Disher’s Paul Zahnley provided the mix on the film “Pablo
Neruda ¡Presente!,” which was well received at the Pablo
Neruda Festival this summer. Narrated by Isabel Allende and produced
by Red Poppy, “Pablo Neruda ¡Presente!” looks
at Neruda’s life and writings within the context of his relationship
with his country, Chile.
Director Tom Weidlinger of Moira Productions was also at Disher
working with Zahnley on his upcoming film “The Heart of the
Congo.” This film takes a look at the problems and dilemmas
humanitarian aid workers confront in assisting civil war refugees.
Finally, filmmaker Alessandro Gentile worked with both Tom Disher
and Paul Zahnley on his film “Firefall.” Gentile followed
artist Cynthia “Kiki” Pettit to the Burning Man Festival
where she created her “Firefall,” or a waterfall set
on fire.
Other recent clients at Disher have included The Learning Channel’s
(TLC) “Perfect Proposal,” The Food Network’s “Kitchen
Confidential,” as well as PeopleSoft, Kush Games/ESPN, HP,
Toyota, and Bank of America.
