San Francisco, California, June 08, 2005 – Disher Music &
Sound’s Paul Zahnley won his second Emmy Award for sound at
the 34th Annual Northern California Emmy Awards held at the Palace
of Fine Arts in San Francisco on May 14th. He was recognized for
his mixing work on the documentary Coastal Clash, produced
by Elizabeth Pepin & Christa Resing for KQED.
The documentary discussed property rights issues in California from
Malibu to the north coast. “The ocean creates havoc on production
dialog. When it’s edited, a lot of work is necessary in order
to smooth out the transitions. Plus I reduce the
roar of the ocean,
creating a naturalistic, but not overly clean, sound,” said

The DMS team provided music, sound design, and 5.1 surround mixes
for Sony Computer Entertainment’s Playstation3 press
event and booth at the E3 Expo. Disher delivered a total of seven
pieces of music and sound design for the Playstation3 HD
displays featuring the product reveal, technology features, history
and other information about Playstation3. Shout Creative
of Burlingame, California produced the HD videos and presentations.
Composer Tom Disher and re-recording mixer Paul Zahnley are wrapping
up the second season on the Asian-youth oriented magazine show Stir
TV. Stir TV, which focuses on fashion, film, food,
and celebrity interviews, is produced by Ashley Hathaway for KTSF26
and is syndicated on the International Channel.
